How to Choose a Masseuse and Why Photos Matter Less Than You Think

Almost everyone starts with the photos and chooses based on them. Yet whether you leave satisfied is often decided by the few lines under the photo that most people skip.

What a Photo Says — and What It Doesn’t

A photo answers one question: whether you like the person. Beyond that, it won’t help.

You can’t tell from it whether the masseuse talks during the massage or stays quiet. Whether her touch is firm or gentle. Whether she even offers the massage you want. And it tells you nothing about how you’ll feel after ten minutes in a room with someone you’ve never met.

All of this is on the profile. It’s just harder to read than a picture.

Read the “About Me” description

Most people skip this part because they expect marketing copy. But each masseuse writes it herself, and you can sense her tone from it. Some write briefly and to the point, some playfully, and some share in more detail what they enjoy about massages.

You’ll connect best with someone whose profile feels pleasant to you. The way a masseuse writes is usually the way she behaves.

See what massages she offers

Not every masseuse does everything. Mutual massage, lingam, couples massage, Body to Body: each masseuse has it clearly stated what she does and does not offer. We explain the differences between the individual types in our massage overview.

If you’re looking for one specific technique, start here and only then choose who catches your eye. You’ll avoid the disappointment of finding out that your dream masseuse doesn’t offer that particular massage.

Durations and prices are part of the selection

Each masseuse sets her own prices and session lengths. Some start at 30 minutes, while others offer massages lasting up to three hours. The price is shown in advance, and nothing extra is charged on site.

If you enjoy a slower pace, look for a masseuse who also offers longer options. A one-hour massage with someone who mainly does 90-minute sessions will feel rushed.

The texts are important for reviews

Client reviews are visible on the profiles, and it’s worth reading them in full. From the texts, you can tell what people appreciate about each masseuse: for some, the word calm appears again and again; for others, energy; and elsewhere, that the masseuse herself offered helpful guidance.

One critical review among many satisfied ones rather shows that reviews are not being deleted.

Take a look at the schedule too

The masseuses work according to their own schedules, so on Tuesday afternoon there may be someone different in-house than on Friday evening. The Weekly schedule shows who is massaging and when, with specific available times listed for each masseuse.

If you click with a particular masseuse, check her schedule in advance. Booking your favorite evening slot three days ahead is much easier than trying to find an opening for today.

If you’re still not sure

Message us in the website chat. The masseuses’ assistant will reply, making it the quickest way to find out which available masseuse offers what you’re looking for. You can also ask about details that don’t fit into the profile, such as whether the masseuse speaks English or how long she has been doing this massage.

Asking in advance is completely normal. You won’t be wasting anyone’s time, and you’ll spare yourself half the uncertainty that can otherwise come with your first visit.

One Thing People Underestimate

Choose based on how you want to experience the massage. A photo won’t answer that question for you.

Anyone looking for peace and quiet may not be happy with a masseuse who loves to chat, even if she is exactly his type. And anyone who finds it hard to open up to strangers will appreciate someone who starts talking right away and takes the pressure off those first few minutes.

You can find all profiles with photos, descriptions, prices, and schedules in the overview of masseuses.
